Police find dead body
By Michelle Daniels | Michelle.Daniels@suntimes.com
Earlier this morning the Chicago police department confirmed the dead body found in a well known venue for unusual clientele was that of 45-year old George Robinson, a local businessman and a well loved husband and father of 3.
Rumour has it he was meeting somebody later that evening to discuss problems within a neighbourhood, problems that our sources tell us were brought about by the woman's past.
Bianca Robinson, George's wife of a full 25 years, told the police that she knew he'd been saying things around the neighbourhood that weren't all that popular with the woman in question.
"He found out a lot of stuff," she said. "About the girl's past and she didn't like it, didn't like it one bit. I wouldn't be surprised if she did away with him."
Thus far everybody we interviewed has remained quiet about the woman's identity, some say it's done out of fear and others who have asked for their identities to remain secret remarked that they thought that things had gone too far.
The bartender of the evening, Benjamin Smith, made an interesting observation of a brunette that George was said to have spoken to not once but on two occasions.
"They seemed to be close," he commented. "He'd spoken to her before, left the joint smiling his ass off. Something must have been going on."
The official report is that George Robinson suffered a massive dose of an unidentifiable poison administered to him via his choice of beverage that night. The owner of the establishment, Simon Calver, remarked that he ran an upstanding business and instances like this are rare and very unfortunate.
"It's a pity that something so horrific should happen to any person," he said. "I can only send out my best wishes to the family in question and reassure the public that this will never happen again."
The police department would like to send out a strong message to the public that the establishment in question will remain shut until it can be determined that the poison was not administered by any current or past employees and they are taking this case very seriously.
With the mysterious brunette disappearing from the now deceased George Robinson's side one has to wonder if there was more to this than a couple foul rumours? You know what they say about a woman scorned.
